Chairman, Dr Michael Entzeroth |

|

|
|
|
Dr. Michael Entzeroth is the Senior Vice
President, Drug Discovery, of the A*STAR Experimental
Therapeutic Centre. He has extensive experience in the
pharmaceutical industry, with many success records in drug
discovery and development. Dr. Entzeroth is combining his
exceptional technical knowledge with his strong business
acumen. He possesses an ability to generate entrepreneurial
drug discovery cultures in multicultural
environments.
Dr. Michael Entzeroth is the founder and
Managing Director of Pharma Resources Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore.
Previously, he was Chief Scientific Officer of S*BIO Pte Ltd
in Singapore and Vice President of CEREP SA in France where he
was a member of the Executive Management Committee and
responsible for the company’s pharmacology service and
discovery activities. From 1985 to 1999, he was with
Boehringer Ingelheim Germany responsible for a variety of drug
discovery programs and held finally the position of Head of
High Throughput Screening.

Chung |

|

|
Jing Chung is currently serving
as Secretary on the Executive Council. Jing is currently
working as a senior patents associate at Lloyd Wise Singapore
(a member of the Marks and Clerks group) and her expertise is
in the biomedical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sector. She
is a registered Australian patents and trade mark attorney,
with a Masters of Intellectual Property Law and a Diploma in
Intellectual Property Practice from the Institute of
Patents and Trade
Marks Attorney
Academy (Australia. She also
holds a PhD from Monash University
(Melbourne,
Australia) as well
as worked in postdoctoral research in an Australian biomedical
research institute.

Honorary Treasurer, Mr Krish
Gopalakrishnan |

|
|
|
Krish Gopalakrishnan has over 21 years
experience in the management of technology, innovation and
markets: He has been a Director in large multinational
companies as well as small start-ups and led strategy and
marketing in markets totalling ~USD 200 million. Krish has
managed P&L, sales and marketing and operations across
Asia-Pacific (particularly China,
ASEAN and India) and has managed business
development in Latin America, Russia +
CIS, and the Middle
East.
In 2005, Krish established Jeiva
International Pte. Ltd. in Singapore. Jeiva is
a boutique consulting firm which has consulted for start-ups
and leading global companies in various fields.
He is a lecturer at the Malaysian
Institute of Management, Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia and
teaches Technology Commercialisation as part of a Certified
Professional Course offered at MIM. Previously Krish has been
a member of the management of several Malaysian and Indian
Bioscience companies.

Council Member, Mr Arun
C |

|
|
|
Arun has a Masters degree in Technology
and bachelor’s in Engineering from premier institutions and
has got varied industrial and management experience. He has
handled various laboratory projects in MNCs like JK Group,
Eastman Chemicals, Temasek Life Sciences(TLL, ex IMA), Exxon
Mobil etc. at various capacities. Practical knowledge and
vision made him a promising entrepreneur.
Arun has 17 years of experience in the
Technology, Engineering and Management fields right from the
ground to the top management level. He
is the chief operating officer and Technical Director of
BioCon Solutions Pte Ltd in Singapore and
offices around the region. In BioCon, Arun manages the
operations and is the key person in the strategizing and
taking the organisation forward. He leads and manages a team
of ‘ best of breed ’ consultants to provide top notch
consulting and technology services to clients.

Council Member, Dr Priya
Rath |
|
|

|
|
|
Priya is currently pursuing her MBA at INSEAD.
Prior to business school, Priya was
an Assistant Vice President at Exploit Technologies, the marketing
and commercialization arm of A*STAR (Agency for Science Technology
and Research), where she oversaw A*STAR’s biomedical patent
portfolio. Prior to Exploit Technologies,
Priya held positions of increasing responsibility at Ella Cheong
Spruson & Ferguson (S.E. Asia’s largest intellectual property
boutique), Affymetrix Inc. and BioEnterprise Asia. At Ella
Cheong Spruson and Ferguson, Priya was instrumental in
growing the firm’s local biotech clientele, and managing the firm’s
Indian patent practice. At Affymetrix Inc., Priya
successfully registered as a US patent agent and
drafted and prosecuted complex inventions before the United States
Patent and Trademark Office. At BioEnterprise Asia, Priya was an
integral member of the team that successfully incubated Lynk
Biotechnologies, Singapore ’s first
privately-funded biotech startup.
Priya received her Masters in Developmental
Neurobiology, and Bachelors with 1st
Class Honours in Cell & Molecular Biology, both from the
National University of Singapore.

Council Member, Leigh
Berryman |
|
|

|
|
|
Leigh Berryman is a
professional, accredited toxicologist with over 32 years
experience in the industry. He graduated from the
University of Newcastle in
U.K., in 1976, and
joined a major UK-based CRO, where he attained the position of
Senior Scientific Officer. In 1982, he joined a global
pharmaceutical company as Departmental Head, Regulatory
Toxicology. In 1987, he moved back into
contract research as Director, Toxicology, with an
international CRO in Holland. In
1992, he accepted the position of Toxicological Advisor to the
Shell Company. In 1994, he moved to
Canada, initially
to the position of Director, Toxicology, and thereafter,
Director, Business Development, with a Canadian-based
CRO.
He founded his own company in July 1998 and took
the company public in 2002 through a reverse
take-over.
Following a secondary
IPO in 2006, Leigh focused on his own consulting company
“Preclinical and Management Consulting Inc”. In
this role, he was largely occupied as functional COO for a
Ohio-based CRO in US.
Towards the end of 2008, he
joined Maccine Pte. Ltd in Singapore as Chief Executive
Officer with a mandate to build on the past successes of
Maccine and position the company to become one of the world’s
paramount contract research facilities with a specialized
focus in the increasingly critical area of translational
research.

Simran has been instrumental in
guiding the Frost & Sullivan Healthcare consulting team to
advise Multinational/Regional Healthcare & Life sciences
companies in Asia on effective growth strategies. He has
been very successful in helping companies use Frost &
Sullivan’s tools & methodologies to enhance their overall
performance and optimize their results. Simran’s
primary focus is for the overall business development
strategy, and implementation of the Asia Pacific Healthcare
group. His strengths lie in an in-depth understanding of
healthcare markets across Asia-pacific. Simran’s expert
opinions have been heard at private client seminars and
industry conferences in the region e.g. Hospital Build Asia
2009, Diagnostics Asia 2008, BioMalaysia 2008, Strategic
Healthcare Tourism Asia, International Healthcare Facilities
Exhibition,etc.
Simran has also been involved
in several strategic consulting projects for MNC Med Tech
& Pharma companies like Siemens Medical, Bayer Schering,
GE Healthcare & Healthcare providers like Parkway, Lippo
Group, Arizona Heart International, etc. Simran has also
worked closely with Asian government Lifesciences promotion
agencies e.g. IE Singapore, MOSTI, Malaysian Biotech Corp,
etc
He holds a Bachelors Degree in
Life Sciences (Physiology), from the National University of
Singapore, and Entrepreneurship from the University of
Pennsylvania (UPENN).
